The USCS team is focused on making membership an indisputable competitive advantage and helping each other become better leaders every day.The objective of the USCS Control Management Process Risk Reduction team is to drive high-impact change to mitigate operational risk, stepping in when significant issues or events occur to improve processes and controls in partnership with business and technical leaders across the enterprise.We are looking for a Director of Process Risk Reduction to lead a team focused on driving step-function change to ensure control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. This is an ideal opportunity to develop a deep understanding of a business that is at the forefront of innovation in the industry and broadly collaborate across business units, functional areas, and geographies.How will you make an impact in this role?Develop a comprehensive process risk reduction strategy, aligning risk reduction initiatives with the organization's business objectives and overall risk management frameworkProvide strategic direction to senior management on process risk issues and mitigation strategiesProactively identify and prioritize areas within business unit (BU) processes requiring risk reduction and coordinate efforts across First Line of Defense (1LoD) risk identification teamsLead high-priority, high-impact initiatives to ensure timely resolution of vertical and horizontal issues within and across BUsConduct independent root cause analyses to identify vulnerabilities, prevent potential operational risks, and inform control design and enhancementSupport BU with design of controls and processes, including modifications to enhance processes/controls to improve proactive risk mitigationsOversee independent testing of issues to ensure effective resolutionMonitor and track the implementation of process changesCultivate a culture of risk awareness and ongoing improvement within the team and the broader organizationShare insights, better practices and themesLead and develop a team of four Minimum Qualifications6+ years experience in operational risk managementExcellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact and obtain consensus from senior BU/tech colleaguesExpertise in process governance, with a track record of establishing and coordinating decision-making processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standardsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectivelyProven history in leading teams, spread over geographies and with varying backgroundsExperience within financial services industryPreferred QualificationsManagement consulting and/or business transformation experienceBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageousExperience in at least one of the following:Identifying and prioritizing areas that require risk reductionManaging process risk reduction initiatives to ensure timely resolution of high priority/high impact issuesAnalyzing root causes to identify process vulnerabilities and prevent potential operational risksConducting independent testing to ensure complete & effective issue resolutionMonitoring and tracking process changes to ensure they are effective in reducing risk and align with the risk appetiteQualificationsSalary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
