92NY is seeking a Director, DEL Curriculum and Collaborations to join its Harkness Dance Center's Dance Education Laboratory (DEL), a team dedicated to delivering exceptional professional learning and instruction to a diverse community of educators and artists interested in developing as dance educators across New York City and beyond.
DEL inspires dance educators to engage in creative, transformational, and ongoing professional learning centered on the artistry of teaching and focused on humanistic principles of equity and justice. DEL provides an inclusive, nurturing, and dynamic laboratory where dancers and educators from diverse communities gather to experience embodied exploration and discovery, collaborative dance-making, culturally responsive practices, and collective self-reflection.
DEL offers a variety of dance education courses: weekend and evening workshops, intensives, asynchronous courses, and a year-long certificate program through our DEL Institute. DEL is the gem of the 92NY Harkness Dance Center and is integrated with both the School of Dance, offering classes and professional learning to children and adults through SoD classes, the Parenting Center, and the Nursery School.
The Director, DEL Curriculum and Collaborations would focus on the successful management and strategic development of DEL's online learning resource library and subscription program, DEL Digital.

Job Responsibilities Include
DEL Digital
Develop and implement a business strategy for the DEL Digital initiative, a monthly subscription service for dance educators. - Oversee the development of curricular content and resources for dance educators aligned with the DEL Model of dance education.
- Create copy, edit, and revise all DEL curricular content.
- Work with 92NY archivist to develop dance education resources related to 92NY dance archives.
- Liaison with 92NY/DEL's web developer for development and maintenance of the DEL Digital subscription platform.
Curricular Collaborations
- Lead DEL curricular initiatives which include:
- Curricular projects for hire.
- Grants supporting new curriculum development for New York City Public Schools, such as the new DEL Literacy curriculum initiative, professional dance company curricular initiatives, and Multilingual Learner curriculum initiatives.
- Budget management, oversee writing team and editing process, organize meetings and deliverables, present final curriculum content, and collaborate with stakeholders to create assessment tools, and deliver final reports.
- Develop new asynchronous course curriculum and interface with DEL's online learning management system.
Professional Learning Collaborations
- Expand DEL's mission through professional learning collaborations with schools and organizations.
- Facilitate DEL Professional Learning workshops and courses.
Harkness Dance Center/DEL Administrative Support
- Participate in weekly DEL and Harkness Dance Center collaborative meetings.
- Promote and participate in DEL and Harkness Dance Center activities, including workshops, performances, and conferences.
- Liaise with other 92NY Departments, including marketing, web design, and development teams.
Experience, Education, & Skills Desired
Education Requirements
Required minimum:
- Master's degree in dance education.
- 5+ years' experience working in an arts administration and/or educational setting.
- 5+ years' experience teaching dance in a PreK-12th grade setting, and developing curriculum.
- DEL-trained preferred.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Passionate about dance and dance education, and creating warm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environments.
- Experience in DEL-based curriculum design and pedagogical frameworks that support inquiry-based learning and foster conceptual thinking skills.
- Proficient in curriculum and lesson planning creation and facilitation, including asynchronous course development and teacher resources.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with diplomacy and clarity.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with program stakeholders.
- Excellent time management, prioritization, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and strong record-keeping ability.
- Skill in using a variety of software applications, including Google Drive, Google Classroom, Microsoft Suite, LearnDash and other learning management platforms, and Zoom. Experience utilizing Tessitura is desirable.
Work Environment & Requirements
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Flexibility is required to attend various programs and events, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Compensation Range
$100,000 - $110,000
The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
