**POSITION SUMMARY:**

Responsible for planning, directing, and managing all administrative functions for the Diagnostic Imaging Department throughout the Lancaster General Health System. Assures that Imaging services are delivered in compliance with all pertinent regulatory agencies, develops and maintains all department budgets and is accountable for fiscal management of all Imaging services. Works in conjunction with the department Chairman to develop and administer department clinical policies and procedures, and oversee the quality performance of the staff as they care for patients

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

+ Performs long range strategic planning for Diagnostic Imaging services including technology development and innovation, new facility development, new imaging programs and financial modeling.

+ Directs activities of daily Diagnostic Imaging operations and patient care including coordination of staffing hours of all imaging sites to ensure that timely and quality imaging services are provided. Establishes and implements goals, objectives, policies and procedures for department operation.

+ Manages the selection, purchase and installation of all new Diagnostic Imaging equipment and associated renovation projects.

+ Directs the development and application of the department quality and PI program to enhance services, improve efficiencies, and assure quality outcomes are maintained. Demonstrates commitment to problem resolution, analysis, and continuous improvement.

+ Coordinates Imaging IT services across the enterprise including the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and radiological information systems (RIS) and multiple sub-specialized software systems that support imaging study acquisition, processing, interpretation and distribution to referring clinicians. Evaluates, selects and coordinates implementation of new applications and their subsequent upgrades.

+ Oversees the selection, hiring, evaluation and discipline of all technical and support staff and ensures that orientation, training and continuing education are provided. Actively participates in talent management and the growth and development of staff.

+ Ensures compliance with all pertinent regulatory agencies and maintains certification/accreditation of department modalities as required by payers and accrediting bodies.

+ Directs the maintenance of department facilities, equipment, supplies and materials at a level to promote efficiency, safety, health and comfort of patients and staff.

+ Prepares and monitors department operating and capital budgets.

+ Develops marketing strategy and imaging outreach programs to improve the health of the community and to expand the referral base. Acts as a resource for new procedures, technology research findings, equipment and related imaging protocols.

**SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:** The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

+ Maintains professional acumen, participates in professional organizations, and promotes staff professional growth.

+ Participates in applicable Hospital committees as required.

+ Other duties as assigned.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

**MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

+ Registration in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and / or CT is required

+ Minimum education is a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiology, Allied Health, or a related degree.

+ Five (5) years of experience as a technologist in the field of Diagnostic Imaging

+ Three (3) or more years of supervisory/management experience in Diagnostic Imaging

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

+ Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Masters in Health Administration (MHA) degree preferred.

+ Five (5) or more years of managing a multi-site full service Imaging Department with acute care and outpatient Imaging services is preferred.
