Job Type Full-time Description Strategic responsibility for planning, directing and evaluating all short- and long-range programs related to organizational development and staff education within Iredell Health System. Plans, directs and supervises operational functions such as staffing, orientation, leadership development, staff education and competency, student clinical rotations and instructor/student orientation. Requirements

  • Master's degree in related field from accredited institution, required
  • BLS certification required
  • Licensed in the State of North Carolina in respective discipline, if required.
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years of leadership experience in staff education or organizational development, preferred
  • Ability to analyze information and recommend solutions
  • Strong leadership and communications skills
  • Ability to apply creative and innovative solutions to problems.
Essential Physical Requirements
  • Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test to include bending, stooping, standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Job specific standards
  • Leads the identification, development and implementation of organizational development strategies and interventions associated with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provides training and development to enhance employee skills and knowledge to include:
  • Recommends/evaluates outside training resources.
  • Performs and/or coordinates orientation for new employees and leadership orientation for new leaders.
  • Provides leadership and oversight to ensure an effective organization-wide staff education program. Formulates an annual plan for management and staff education.
  • Conducts IHS organizational learning needs assessment and develops and implements plans for program development and expansion to address learning gaps.
  • Conducts IHS learning gap analysis and develops improvement goals and programs consistent with findings.
  • Ensures nursing and clinical policies, procedures and forms related to education are current and based on evidence.
  • Coordinates the maintenance of continuing education requirements within the State of North Carolina for Nursing, Laboratory, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory and other designated positions.
  • Provides administrative and financial accountability for planning, directing, staffing, coordinating, and controlling functions, and activities, delegating authority as necessary. Manages and meets financial performance targets including revenue performance and controls spending of departmental budget. Prepares and monitors budget in accordance with the anticipated needs of organization. Oversees efficient staffing on a daily basis.
  • Understands regulatory compliance issues which affect the system and department, including OSHA, DCF, TJC, EEOC, CDC, AHCA, etc. and ensures that departments and personnel maintain compliance at all times.
  • Understands and accepts the continual nature of change associated with the healthcare environment and the importance of remaining flexible in order to meet changing demands and assist staff to understand change.
  • Sets and maintains the highest levels of service to patients, family members, visitors, physicians, and other hospital departments. Promptly investigates and appropriately responds to patient, visitor, and physician complaints.
  • Develops, coordinates and adapts system wide leadership, licensed and unlicensed staff development programs.
