The Director, Facilities Management is responsible for real estate operations at the company's Hartford and Windsor, CT office as well as all leased locations in the portfolio. Typically oversees contracted Real Estate Operations resources. This role is based in our Hartford, CT, Home Office on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities:
+ Administers all operational activities related to the Hartford campus. Identifies operational needs and ensures that repairs and maintenance are completed in a timely manner
+ Responsible for remote teams managing operations across our field footprint
+ Responds quickly to unanticipated, urgent, and emergent incidents
+ Oversees a staff of contracted resources responsible for day-to-day operations, including maintenance, building enhancement, and meeting set-up
+ Plans and executes capital improvements to the Hartford and Windsor campus. Partners closely with Director RE Planning to ensure seamless integration of all project and maintenance needs.
+ Participates in FM planning for our leased locations
+ Works collaboratively with municipal officials to ensure that all planned work is appropriately permitted and inspected
+ Identifies operational needs and ensures that repairs and maintenance are completed in a timely manner
+ Serves as a trusted business partner to internal stakeholders
+ Provides valued consultation and independently manages relationship conflict in a constructive way
+ Contributes to project prioritization and budget discussions
+ Establishes and applies best business practices, policies, and procedures to create value and minimize risk
+ Monitors vendor performance and invoicing to ensure quality and cost controls
+ Ensures ongoing compliance with health and safety standards
+ Works collaboratively with Sourcing partners to identify products and services, review and select third-party proposals, and manage the procured relationships
Qualifications:
+ Responsible for the direction, coaching and management of internal team as well as strategic partner / 3rd party teams
+ Minimum of 8 years of experience in a corporate real estate environment
+ Minimum of 3 years managing teams and processes
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
+ Experience using E-Builder, including sending/receiving correspondence, generating and interpreting reports, and auditing project information
+ PMP certification preferred
+ Possesses deep knowledge of engineering principles
+ Able to effectively review and analyze blueprints and technical documents
+ Understands the regulatory environments in which the team's work is carried out
+ Possesses excellent project management skills with experience managing large-scale field and construction projects
+ Understands how to determine, prioritize, and analyze risks and the impact of identified risks to the overall project
+ Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
+ Takes a customer-focused approach in understanding business partners' needs
+ Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with strong interpersonal skills
+ Can independently apply change management concepts, methodologies and tools, and drive change management for any size initiative
+ Experience managing within a matrix structure and dealing with ambiguity through effective influence and collaboration at multiple levels of the organization
+ Strategic & operational mindset

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$123,760 - $185,640
