Job Description:

The Assistant Manager of Facilities Operations oversees day-to-day campus operations, including facilities maintenance, housekeeping, landscaping, fleet management, capital projects, occupational health and safety, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing budgets, coordinating design and construction activities, overseeing vendor operations (e.g., snow removal, wastewater management), and contributing to the facilities master plan and capital program development. The role requires a commitment to the College's mission, vision, and values, fostering collaboration and open communication.

Additional Duties:

  • Serves on College, state, and county committees/task forces.
  • Obtains FMP certification from IFMA within the first year of employment.

Position Details:

  • Residency in Maryland or contiguous states required; relocation may be necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree OR 10 years of managerial-level facilities management experience.
  • Experience: 5 years in facilities management, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Skills:
  • Leadership in design, construction, and campus maintenance.
  • Budget management for capital and operational projects.
  • Collaboration with contractors, architects, and maintenance vendors.
  • Prioritizing deferred maintenance projects and advising leadership.
