The Director, Sam's Club Communications - Business Partner will serve as an internal business communications and external executive communications partner for the Merchandising and Operations teams. From counseling and helping to inform and align the business to best positioning the executive internally and externally, this communications professional will play a critical role in how each of the teams and executives perform individually as well as how they align with each other and the broader business. This associate will need to become a trusted, creative advisor to the principal executives (Chief Merchant and Chief Operator) as well as key leaders/influencers within the teams.

The Walmart Global Communications team is focused on both traditional and new ways to reach audiences internally and externally and shape the reputation of the brand. Team members work cross-functionally with every aspect of Walmart business, connecting with associates across the globe. The work goes beyond retail. We're a small team with multiple functions embedded - business partner, executive and business strategy support, media (business and consumer), internal communications, executive communications, creative thinking/counsel That means it looks a whole lot more like water polo (one pool, no lanes) than competitive swimming (one pool, clear lanes) most days. We need someone who can work collaboratively, quickly, and with lots of grace given and received.

What You'll Bring to this role:

* Ability to think holistically, ability to influence, strong writer and presenter of ideas,

* Ability to work in and manage complex situations (i.e. work in the gray), and business curiosity/understanding.

* Learning the business intimately, establishing trust, and using strategic and solutions-focused communications as a tool to drive the business forward is the heart of this role.

* Collaborate and build transparent relationships with the principal executives and key leaders and the ability to influence are of upmost importance to be successful.

What You'll Do in this Role

* Effectively communicate with the Merch and Ops teams, ensuring they are fully informed and aligned to the broader Sam's Club strategy

* Provide strategic communications support for the Chief Merchant and Chief Operator, driving awareness and understanding of their respective strategies

* Work collaboratively with the Sam's Club communications and media team so we can - as a team - best tell the Sam's Club story

* Come up with creative (and entertaining!) ways to help the Merch and Ops team members understand their role(s) within the broader Sam's Club strategy

* Develops and implements communication and engagement strategy plans for Merch and Ops leadership that position executives as thought leaders inside and outside the company

* Become a sought-after partner for the business

* Do what you're great at/Let what others do what they're great at in order to best help the Sam's Club communications and media team creatively and effectively add value

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field and 5 years' experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area OR 7 years' experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area. 2 years' supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.
