Overview We are seeking a Director of Global Engineering responsible for the direction and leadership of Viskase's global engineering operations, capital project management and guidance of Viskase's maintenance programs to ensure activities align with organizational objectives.This role requires and Engineering degree and at least 10 to 20 years experience in an Engineering leadership position leading manufacturing and other projects.This is an ideal role for a Sr Engineering Manager looking for the next step up in your career! Key Responsibilities Include:
- Oversees the design, development and modification of Viskase's production equipment and facilities.
- Directs the global engineering team in formulating designs, cost estimates and specifications through the application of professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices and procedures.
- Coordinates the implementation of production equipment upgrades and facility changes and the costing and purchasing of associated materials and equipment.
- Assesses processes and environmental conditions to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory agencies and organization safety standards.
- Approves process specification and design standards.
- Incorporates components, materials and tools that result in cost-effective and quality output.
- Implements effective engineering methods, provides expert technical guidance and acts as a resource for the engineering team.
- Conducts special investigations and studies to evaluate the efficiency of global engineering programs.
- Oversees the global CAPEX budget and the corporate engineering operating budget.
- Provides direction and leadership to the development and execution of Viskase's preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Oversees the parts management processes to ensure R&M costs are supervised and working capital for parts is proactively managed.
Education and Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
- 10-20 years of engineering experience required, experience in a manufacturing environment a must. Project management experience in manufacturing a must
- 5+ years of management experience of teams of least 5 direct reports and 10 team members
- Computerized Maintenance Programs experience
- Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- 40-60% domestic and global travel required
- Critical thinking and decision making.
