Job Description:

Smartly is seeking an experienced Director, Global Events to join our global marketing team. This leadership role will focus on high-impact advertising industry tentpole events, customer engagement initiatives and Smartly's flagship event, ADVANCE. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop, implement and execute a comprehensive event strategy that aligns with our overarching business objectives, reporting directly to the VP Brand Marketing and working closely with the SVP, Marketing & Communications.

As the Director of Events at Smartly, you will

* Strategic Leadership: Lead the vision and execution of major events that align with company objectives and drive global brand awareness and lead generation, including industry trade shows including CES and Cannes, Smartly's Flagship event, ADVANCE, and high-level customer summits and Customer Advisory Board initiatives.

* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong alignment across sales, customer success, partnerships and executive teams to design and execute exceptional events and experiences that resonate with our customers and engage prospects.

* Annual Strategy Development: Partner with the SVP, Marketing and Communications to create an annual events strategy that meets the needs of senior stakeholders and aligns with company goals.

* Project Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end management of all tentpole and customer events, including budget management, production, venue selection, event marketing campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.

* Communication and Promotion: Collaborate with the growth marketing, product marketing and communications team to develop impactful internal and external messaging, campaigns, and promotional strategies for events.

* Performance Tracking: Establish key performance indicators and provide comprehensive reporting on event outcomes, including metrics such as MQLs, partnership activations, and overall impact on business objectives.

We are looking for you if you have

* Experience: 10+ years of experience in event management, with at least 6 years in B2B or advertising and a proven track record of leading large-scale and intimate, premium events.

* Event Expertise: Demonstrated success in producing activations at major global events (e.g., Cannes, Advertising Week, CES), managing high-stakes customer engagement initiatives and driving and reporting on lead generation.

* Leadership Skills: Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, managing agencies and on-site teams with minimal supervision while driving high performance.

* Executive Presence: Proven capability to navigate executive expectations and deliver exceptional service to senior leadership during events.

* Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with the agility to prioritize resources and manage multiple global projects simultaneously.

The base pay range for this position is as mentioned below per year, plus annual bonus. We take into consideration an individual's background, expertise, and experience in determining final salary. In addition to annual salary, Smartly's total rewards provide employees with stock options, medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement savings benefits, parental leave, 5 weeks vacation, unlimited sick days, life insurance and disability benefits.
