The Director Global Marketing & Communications leads all corporate communications, including corporate visibility, media relations and public relations, digital marketing, internal communications, corporate culture, and community affairs. This role acts as communications partner to the executive leadership team and works in alignment with Calgon Carbons and Kurarays corporate strategy.Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)Internal & External CommunicationsManages the planning, development, and execution of company-wide employee communications, programs and platforms by providing strategic direction on internal initiatives, drafting communications for executives, people managers, and employees, overseeing all editorial contentOwns the global brand and ensures the brand is represented appropriately in all media typesCreates and oversees strategic communication plans that align with Calgon Carbon's milestones, annual business plan, and long-term visionOversees all marketing and communication activities, including branding, advertising, public relations, digital marketing, and social media. Approves marketing content as required per corporate policyCollaborates with executive team to improve employee engagementLead the development of compelling content and messaging that resonates with target audiences on a corporate level and in collaboration with global marketing teamManage media relations and act as the companys spokesperson when necessary.Customer Service, Focus, & Market KnowledgeCoordinate with other departments, including sales, product development, human resources, and customer service, to ensure cohesive and integrated marketing effortsWorks synergistically, and as a liaison, with the Kuraray Communications and Corporate Planning teams in JapanAct as the knowledge center for marketing and communications and provides subject matter expertise guidance as neededStay updated on industry trends and best practices in marketing and communicationsPlans and executes on special projects as assignedStrategic Direction, Planning, & ImplementationDevelop and implement a strategic marketing and communications plan that aligns with the companys goals and objectivesAnalyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and differentiationMonitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and communication strategies, using data and analytics to drive continuous improvementProvides strategic direction on all matters affecting company visibility and reputation as well as related tactical support as neededOwns the on-going evolving culture of Calgon Carbon's vision, mission, and values to support the unique culture of the organizationCollaborates with executives, Kuraray, business units, and EHSS on crisis communication plan messaging to internal and external stakeholdersCollaborates with leadership and the HR function to create strategies and implement employee communications in support of corporate and industry initiativesSupervisory DutiesLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing and communications teamDirects the daily operation and work of the Internal Communications functionManages the external website and manages the social media presenceQualificationsA bachelors degree from a 4-year college or university is required (Business, marketing, or related field; equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree)10years of senior leadership experience is required10years of communications experience is required10years of international communications experience or exposure is required10years of experience in planning, writing, editing, and production of marketing literature is requiredExperience managing social media is preferredMore about Calgon Carbon, A Kuraray CompanyWe are a company of scientific innovators with over 205 patents.
