What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop and implement strategies to influence public policy and regulatory frameworks affecting the Company as well as the broader building materials sector. Advocate for the Company's interests at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including elected officials, staff, government officials, policymakers, communities, industry trade associations, and non-governmental organizations.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, assess their impact on Company operations, and develop strategies to influence policy development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, legal, and operations teams, to align government affairs strategies with business objectives.
  • Identify and manage emerging issues, assess their potential impacts, provide strategic advice, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Provide clear and concise communications on public policy issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on government affairs activities and outcomes for senior management and other stakeholders.

What Are We Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree in political science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field, preferably within the building materials or construction sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and industry stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and political landscapes.
