Director, Head of Cloud FinOps - News CorpThe Head of Cloud FinOps will be responsible for developing and implementing tools and processes to support financial management and cost optimization for our cloud environments across all News Corp companies. This role will focus on optimizing cloud spending, enhancing visibility into cloud costs, and fostering a culture of financial accountability within our cloud operations. You will lead the FinOps global team and collaborate closely with engineering, finance, and operations across the company to ensure efficient use of cloud resources. As the Head of Cloud FinOps, you will play a critical role in shaping our cloud financial strategy and driving operational efficiency across our global teams. Strategy Development and Implementation: Evolve the FinOps strategy aligned with industry best practices, and work across business units to implement the strategy. Reporting & Analytics: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide insights into cloud expenditure, usage patterns, and forecasting. Budget and Forecast Management: Provide actual cost reports to support monthly accounting needs and support forecasting across Headquarters and Business Units. Cost Optimization: Monitor cloud usage and costs, identifying opportunities for optimization and ensuring that spending aligns with business priorities. Collaboration: Work closely with IT, finance, and engineering teams to promote best practices in cloud resource allocation and financial management. Training & Education: Foster a culture of financial accountability by providing training and resources to teams on cloud cost management principles. Vendor Management: Provide recommendations and data to Technology and Sourcing leaders to support contract negotiations, and monitor contract compliance. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance Cloud FinOps processes and tools.Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Technology or Finance. 7+ years of experience in Technology, with at least 3 years in a FinOps role. Strong understanding of cloud computing services (primarily AWS and Google Cloud) and associated financial management processes. Experience with Finance processes including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail. Strong leadership and influencing skills, with a collaborative mindset. Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical and financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
