PurposeThe Director, Head of Global Analytics, Clinical Trial Analytics & Strategic Insights will lead a dynamic global team responsible for delivering high-quality analytical insights that drive strategic decisions in clinical trial operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in analytics, capable of synthesizing complex data into actionable insights. This role is instrumental in leading and driving the strategic direction and execution of analytics that directly impact the success of clinical trial planning. The insights generated by this department are critical in making informed decisions that can accelerate drug development and improve lives. The Director plays a crucial role in mentoring and guiding the analytics team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. They ensure that the team remains at the forefront of the latest analytical techniques and technologies, which is essential in maintaining our competitive edge in the industry.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESLead and support team to develop and execute a global analytics strategy that aligns with the organization's clinical trial objectives.Lead and mentor a team of line managers and analysts, fostering an environment of continuous learning and development.Able to self-manage multiple broad objectives and perform all responsibilities independently. Initiative-taker, highly motivated, quick learner.Strategic mindset, with a history of driving innovation and process improvements in clinical trial analytics.Management duties such as employee performance reviews, coaching, mentoringUtilizes multiple data sources and tools to perform analyses, develop data storyboards, collaborate internally to formulate meaningful client insights and reports, and present to internal and external stakeholders.Uses existing databases in novel ways to answer critical design questions. Understand the limitations and risks of the tools and data. Strong knowledge base in decision analysis techniques, database analysis methods, statistical analysis and reporting, and technical writingExperience running big-data computational engines, e.g. SparkExperience in Python and R programming languages. Able to use these to summarize data via simple and complex tables, create cohorts using index dates, run regression analyses and decision trees.Proven experience of managing raw data, through to aggregated information, to drive meaningful outcomes.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and innovations in trial design and execution.Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all analytical outputs, and present findings to executive leadership and stakeholders.Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in analytics and clinical trial methodologies, integrating best practices into the organization.Mange vendor contracts with support of procurementConsults with customers and key internal stakeholders on strategic issues, expands project scopes and future business opportunities.Participates in external thought leadership.Defines business requirements to IT development teams as they build technical and data components that support the team.Leads continuous improvement of departmental processes and procedures.Leads functional area initiatives, special project assignments and acts as departmental cross functional liaison.Demonstrated experience in leading client engagements.Ability to influence in all directions. Ability to lead, guide and motivate others to achieve desired results.Ability to connect ideas, people, and information in novel ways to address problems and move projects forward.MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEAdvanced degree in a related field (e.g., Biostatistics, Data Science, Epidemiology, Statistics).Experience in analytics, preferably within the pharmaceutical or clinical research industry.Strong knowledge of Global Real-World DataExperience with driving automation initiatives to optimize existing processes and deliverables.Proven leadership skills and experience managing a high-performing analytics team.Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear and compelling insights for diverse audiences.Exposure in data mining activities using Python and SQL is a plus.Clinical development experience – with a focus towards a deep understanding of the overall clinical development process, including clinical planning, clinical trial operations, or clinical trial design (preferred).This role is critical in ensuring that our clinical trials are designed and executed efficiently, leveraging data to improve patient outcomes and accelerate the delivery of new therapies to market.
