Role Summary:

The Director, Insights & Analytics is an experienced leader responsible for the development and execution of data-driven market insights supporting decision-making across the organization. This role is pivotal in harnessing data to generate actionable insights that inform our business strategies and marketing positioning. Key responsibilities include market research, competitive intelligence, analytics, and insights to drive our pre-commercial and follow-on launch initiatives with a digital-first mindset.

This person is a subject matter expert who can work independently and has strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally across the organization. The person in this role has a strong background in biotechnology, data analytics, and leadership, with a proven ability to communicate complex data insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

This role is based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being remote.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Together with the Head of Commercialization, and in close partnership with the digital team, develop and execute a comprehensive insights & analytics strategy that is embedded into the broader commercialization strategy to support enterprise-wide launch preparedness, aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Partner with functions to integrate insights into decision-making.
  • Lead development and execution of market research projects including patient journey, forecasting, and product positioning.
  • Lead development and execution of Competitive Intelligence tracking and reporting insights, monitor trends, data announcements/releases.
  • Lead the development of advanced analytics models, including predictive and prescriptive analytics to support decision-making across the organization.
  • Assess and request budget to buy data or subscriptions as relevant to business needs such as Global Data and IQVIA.
  • Establish best practices for data collection, analysis, and reporting including KPI's, dashboards, and standard reports.
  • Collaborate closely with Regulatory to ensure submissions are backed by data and likewise with Value & Access to ensure payer engagements and submissions are integrated with data-driven insights.
  • Translate complex data sets into clear and actionable insights that drive strategic initiatives.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership, ensuring clarity and understanding of analytical insights.
  • Based on milestone achievements, recruit, train, manage, and develop a high-performing Insights & Analytics team.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics and biotech to inform strategic planning and operational improvements.

Education and Skills Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in biotech, pharma, either in-house &/or as a vendor.
  • Degree Qualified in Life Sciences, Data Sciences, Statistics, Analytics, or related fields.
  • Masters degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • A digital-first mindset to approach market insights and customer strategy with state-of-the-art digital tactics.
  • Proven experience in leading data-driven projects with a strong understanding of statistical analysis, data mining, and modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data analytics in the biotech sector.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large and complex data sets.
  • Expertise using analytical tools, models, software, and platforms.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication & presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate with and influence internal & external stakeholders, with a track record of effectively conveying insights to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools and data visualization techniques.
  • Ability to translate complex data into simple language and actionable insights.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage external vendors.
