Job Description:

The Director, International Merchandising is responsible for driving merchandising and buying strategies for all international distributor regions, which attributes to 45+ countries, and 300+ doors worldwide. CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES: MERCHANDISING

  • Work closely with Product Merchandising teams to ensure that feedback provided from regional teams are incorporated into the line plan and line reviews
  • Liaison with Japan DTC buying and merchandising team to ensure their feedback is captured and presented during HQ line review
  • Identify potential misses in the collection based on regional feedback and provide estimated financial forecasts by pattern at the needed intersects
  • Co-assort four international collections a year which are presented at markets in NYC, UK, Dubai, and Tokyo
  • Roll up each country's seasonal orders and provide information on cancellations, substitutions and additions
  • Influence respective countries into key products, appropriate depths and assortments that satisfy both partner's Open to Buy and contractual commitments
  • Collaborate with Product Merchandising, US DTC, Designers, and Marketing on global marketing campaign and ensure all of distributors are aligned with the key stories
  • Manage the international merchandising calendar for the balance of the team; identify and manage varied order deadlines and multi-season deliverables
MARKET SUPPORT
  • Support four seasonal markets a year in NYC, UK, HK and Tokyo
  • Analyze countries' pre-market OTB's and rebalance the assortment to ensure the collection will meet regional sales targets
  • Drive business review meetings with key countries from a buying and merchandising perspective
FINANCIALS/ANALYSIS
  • Attend monthly business reviews with respective accounts, Japan, and regional commercial leads
  • Prepare and consolidate total international (Distributors and Japan) monthly and seasonal hindsight reports for presentation to leadership
  • Provide seasonal forecast to Product Merchandising and Demand Planning to ensure topline budgets are being met
  • Present seasonal buys and strategies to Leadership team
  • Manage inventory levels for HK, UK, and NL warehouses, ensuring inventory levels are appropriate
  • Closely monitor quarterly revenue and identify any gaps to the budget, and work closely with commercial leads to find revenue opportunities
OPERATIONAL
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams in NYC, New Hampshire and HK offices including Product Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Quality Control, Store Operations and Store Design to ensure that all aspects of specific country needs are met
  • Work with logistics and finance to execute both seasonal buys as well as replenishment orders
  • Manage Sr. Merchandiser and Associate Merchandiser for each region
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Bachelor's Degree required in related area
  • 10+ years of experience in Merchandising or Planning
  • Previous experience working with international markets preferred
  • Proficiency in Mandarin or Arabic preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and SAP
