The position is also expected to work aggressively with local management, local law enforcement and service establishments to develop and implement proactive fraud prevention policies, procedures and programs. Develop, communicate and enforce security policies and procedures for employees and contractors.LeadershipProvide leadership for a team of professionals located throughout the assigned geographic area including review of investigative assignments.Manage and maintain effective working relationships at the highest level with various business partners and local law enforcement agencies throughout area of responsibility.Develop process improvements and implement where applicable.Plan and monitor expenditures within a budget.InvestigationsContribute to the reduction and control of fraud losses by effectively directing investigations of suspected fraud against American Express and its subsidiaries.Prioritize investigative requests received from the Company's fraud control units as well as those received directly from Global Security management and law enforcement.Personally conduct sensitive investigations as needed.Minimum QualificationsMust possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team of professionals and interact with other business leaders and law enforcement.Must be able to work independently while keeping the Regional Vice President apprised of situations as they may occur.Must have 5-10 years combined experience in one or more of the following: law enforcement, security management, investigations, and people leadership.Preferred QualificationsMust have a thorough and highly developed understanding of corporate investigations.Professional certification in security management or investigations is a plus.Bachelor's or other 4-year degree may be required. Preferred fields of study include business, computer science, criminal justice, and social sciences.Strong investigative/analytical capabilities are essential along with a good understanding of the fraud environment within the assigned geographical areas.Must be thoroughly conversant with local prosecutorial guidelines and associated criminal laws.Must have an understanding of privacy laws and the Company's privacy code to know what information can be shared with law enforcement and other parties.Must have strong organizational managerial and communication skills to effectively direct security activities in a culturally diverse work force and handle emergencies and stressful situations calmly, quickly and professionally.Ability to self-motivate, lead and inspire others to overcome obstacles and achieve goals together with the ability to resolve conflict and lead by example in a team-based environment.Excellent organization, communication and computer skills.QualificationsSalary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
