Job Title: Principal/Managing Director - Sponsor Coverage and Origination

Overview:
We are working with a prominent private credit firm that focuses on lower middle market (LMM) sponsor-backed direct lending. The firm has a strong track record of providing flexible capital solutions to private equity sponsors across various sectors. They are seeking an experienced Principal or Managing Director to join the team in New York City. This role will focus on sponsor coverage, origination, and helping with deal execution and underwriting.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Sponsor Coverage & Relationship Management: Build, maintain, and expand relationships with private equity sponsors to generate new lending opportunities.
- Origination: Source and develop new direct lending deals, focusing on sponsor-backed transactions in the lower middle market.
- Deal Structuring & Underwriting: Lead or support the underwriting and structuring of complex debt solutions, including senior secured and unitranche loans.
- Execution & Oversight: Oversee the deal process from initial pitch to final closing, ensuring timely and efficient execution of deals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sponsor coverage and origination in private credit, direct lending, or leveraged finance.
- Strong understanding of LMM sponsor-backed transactions.
- Ability to manage multiple relationships and deals simultaneously.
- Deep experience in financial analysis, underwriting, and deal structuring.
