What You Will Do:

Under the supervision of the Vice President, Operations, Marketing & Strategic Planning, supports the Marketing Team in implementing strategies and tactics that result in building positive relationships with the community through the organization's marketing communications vehicles. Has a well-rounded background in a broad range of marketing disciplines, including advertising, copywriting, community and employee relations, etc. Oversees media buying and placement, including print, outdoor, radio, cable and non-traditional media. Proactively identifies, researches and recommends strategic marketing opportunities. Assists in other areas as needed. The Marketing Director also directs Firelands 55+ Club, Physician Relations, speaker's bureau, community health workers, community educational programs, health fairs, and community screenings, in addition to acting as the conduit of information to the community members, including physicians, service groups, and other potential referral sources.

* Oversees and directs the marketing & communications department and community outreach department.

* Oversees and manages media placements including traditional, digital, and directory listings for the health system.

* Serves as department liaison/representative to advertising and media representatives. Researches and identifies new advertising opportunities.

* Develops annual marketing plan for the health system, supporting the overall strategies of the health system.

* Creates and manages annual marketing budget. Oversees and maintains requests/reporting for sponsorships/donations. Oversees donation/sponsorship request and reporting.

* Oversees hospital system branding initiatives including internal and external signage projects, logo usage, etc.

* Serves as primary spokesperson for the health system. Proactively identifies possible story ideas and presents these ideas to area media reporters.

* Oversees creative development of print, digital, radio, cable and outdoor mediums.

* Provides advertising and marketing strategies for targeted services of the Medical Center and related subsidiaries, including Firelands Physician Group and Firelands Counseling & Recovery Services, as deemed appropriate. This may include preparation or assistance with a marketing plan for the physician group or separate physician specialties

* Supervises, writes and edits communication pieces including, but not limited to, the Feel Better with Firelands, community benefit report, etc.

* Writes copy for marketing initiatives.

* Assists with statistics logging, proof-reading of printed materials, ads, etc., as assigned.

* Serves as lead Public Information Officer (PIO) for the organization, including crisis communications.

* Oversees department invoicing process.

* Responsible for dashboard reports, marketing statistical reports and market share analysis reports.

* Works with the marketing team on annual programs and special events, which may include assistance with staffing, program content, theme, menu planning, invitations, programs, entertainment, awards, etc.

* Serves as department representative on internal and external committees, as requested by Vice President.

* Exhibits knowledge of goals and objectives of Medical Center.

* Uses and operates personal computer, photographic equipment, and audio visual equipment.

* Uses marketing techniques and philosophies.

* Maintains resource files of advertisements, etc.

* Directs and supervises the Community Health Advocate with introduction of new physicians to the medical communities in the primary and secondary service areas, as well as providing information about services and programs offered by Firelands Regional Medical Center. This includes guiding creative outlets to promote the health system such as the Focus on Healthcare publication.

* Coordinates with service line leaders to promote their programs to physicians.

* Directs and supervises the coordination of classes, functions, and activities related to healthcare education that will benefit the community including clubs, and organizations to include wellness, health promotion, disease management, and injury prevention.

* Develops and implements Community Outreach strategies to fit with the organizational goals and objectives.

* Monitors and reports on statistics pertaining to physician visits, screenings, presentations and other programs and interactions with the community.

* Provides documentation needed for accreditation and financial reporting purposes.

What You Will Need:

* Bachelor's Degree required in marketing or related field.

* Previous marketing/public relations experience with a knowledge of advertising buys and placement.

* Copywriting experience a must.

* Personal computer abilities a must.

* Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and insurable under Firelands auto policy. Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.

* Ability to work in a stressful environment and effect solutions in a timely manner.

* Ability to maintain a positive impression of the Medical Center at all times.

* Proper English grammar usage required.

* Ability to understand and effectively communicate in both written and oral form.

* Successful completion of a one hundred eighty (180) day probationary period.
