Responsibilities

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:The candidate will be a member of the Leveraged Finance group, dedicated to Middle Market Lender Finance business (“MML”). The MML Team provides leverage against diversified pools of Middle Market Loans inthe form of asset-based facilities. The Leveraged Finance group provides fundamental credit analysis on the underlying collateral. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

New Transaction Origination/Execution:

  • As the senior banker, help originate and execute lender financing transactions from alternative asset managers.
  • Assist with due diligence (accurate screening and analysis of lender financing opportunities).
  • Assist in the production of credit papers and presentations.
  • Assist in the syndication process of MML transactions, including drafting of syndication and credit rating agency materials and addressing investor inquiries.

Portfolio Monitoring / Other:

  • Oversee monitoring of the performance of the collateral for re-evaluation events and borrowing base adjustments with a goal to finding key trends in the portfolio.
  • This role must be performed in accordance with the compliance rules inherent to the business, both internal procedures and external regulatory rules.
  • The candidate must contribute to and promote a positive working environment with a team-first attitude; the candidate should aspire to be an advocate and model representative of the bank.

Profile required:

  • 6-8 years' experience at a bank or private debt fund focused on underwriting of leveraged transactions.
  • Strong understanding of investment banking / corporate finance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Proactive.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-focused environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Must complete Series 7/79 and Series 63 certifications.

EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from a top tier University.
