Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses.
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
Ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements and other regulatory obligations.
Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement necessary changes to company policies and procedures.
The Director of Accounting will oversee the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
This role ensures the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification highly preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience in a publicly traded company and familiarity with SEC reporting requirements.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
