Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements and other regulatory obligations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement necessary changes to company policies and procedures.
  • The Director of Accounting will oversee the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
  • This role ensures the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a publicly traded company and familiarity with SEC reporting requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
