R2Net Inc. is the innovative technology company behind JamesAllen.com & BlueNile.com -- providing e-commerce and supply chain platforms to connect the entire span of the diamond industry's ecosystem, including manufacturers, retailers and consumers.About the RoleThe Director of Accounting will be responsible for assisting in overseeing the accounting function and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, as well as internal policies. Reporting to the Controller, the Director of Accounting will manage day-to-day accounting operations and lead process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background and proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general accounting, accounts payable, and payroll, and ensures the team's professional growth
  • Work closely with the Controller to ensure financial accuracy and timely completion of accounting activities.
  • Responsible for reviewing reconciliations and driving process improvements. Ensures reconciliations have proper documentation and support
  • Assist the Controller in preparing consolidated financial reports and management reports for executive leadership.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring all reconciliations and journal entries are completed accurately and on time.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.
  • Lead system enhancements or upgrades, working with the IT team to ensure accounting systems support company growth.
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes
  • Collaborate with departments such as Operations, Legal, and Tax to provide accounting expertise on financial transactions and strategic initiatives.
  • Support the Controller in advising senior management on financial strategies, policies, and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with department policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulations.
  • Monitoring internal control procedures and evaluating the effectiveness of those controls (document controls and processes).
  • Develops a deep understanding of SAP and how transactions are recorded to ensure team records accurate accounting transactions
  • Special projects as needed and other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA certification is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles in medium to large organizations (revenue of $500M+ preferred).
  • Extensive experience with U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and developing accounting teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Annual base pay: $150,000 - $190,000.
