For almost 30 years, PSG has been relied upon as the leading data-driven, pharmacy benefit consulting firm in the country. This role will be focused on supporting needs for clients and internal client team related to PBM contract analytics and pricing. This individual will be responsible for providing consultative support for internal and external clients within PSG as well as establishing and maintaining relationships both internally and externally to ensure satisfaction of analytics. The position will support PBM analytics such as contract interpretation, pricing impact analyses, addressing complex industry issues, and process improvement. The individual must have exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and communication skills along with the ability to execute in a fast-paced team environment. The Director Actuarial Analytics is a client facing role and responsible for communicating complex analytical findings and conclusions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare, provide, and present complex analytics to internal consultants and directly to clients.
  • Maintain and enhance financial models used to evaluate PBM pricing proposals.
  • Assist in the development of new tools that evaluate:
    • The effectiveness of PBM formularies and specialty drug lists.
    • Clinical savings guarantees.
  • Development and validation of trend factors used in financial models.
  • Assist Health Plan clients with Medicare drug pricing support including IRA and benefit plan redesigns.
  • Participate in client discussions regarding PBM pricing strategies and analyses.
  • Help clients with Plan Cost and Net Plan Liability calculations.
  • Actuarial valuation of scenario planning options for clients.
  • Provide support for new product development opportunities.
  • Assist in other analytic projects as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics/Informatics, Economics, or Finance.
  • ASA or FSA certification and MAAA.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, advanced knowledge in Excel.
  • Proficient using SQL to extract and query data.
  • Experience building & maintaining large complex models that are used in production of work by other team members.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization, resourceful, critical thinking, and time management skills.
  • Experience analyzing raw data, with ability to think logically and process sequentially with a high level of detailed accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and discipline to multitask and prioritize projects to meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Professionally interact with, or present to, a diverse group of stakeholders including executives, managers, clients, and subject matter experts both technical and non-technical.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and problem solving.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work creatively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • 5+ years of pharmacy data experience (exposure to Health Plan pharmacy data and analytics a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in PBM industry with knowledge of pricing and rebates.
  • Ability for some travel (maximum of 10%).

Salary and Benefits

The national average salary for this role is $150k to $180k in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications, and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.

Salary based on background and experience. Benefits include full medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, 401k match and annual bonus potential.
