- The Director of Admissions is responsible for all aspects of supporting the enrollment management process.
- The Director ensures accurate, prompt and effective service delivery to students and oversees all aspects of student recruitment, enrollment, and orientation for the university.
- This position is responsible for attracting, marketing, and the promotion of prospective new students across colleges and departments and externally throughout the Commonwealth and beyond.
- The Director will work collaboratively with other enrollment management functions, including financial aid, registrar, bursar, and student affairs units. Under the guidance of senior administration, the Director will work with colleagues to deliver successful enrollment outcomes for the University.
- The Director of Admissions is responsible for development and implementation of the University's Strategic Enrollment Management Plan, overseeing its successful execution and working in collaboration across all units of the University.
- The Director provides University-wide leadership to promote, recruit, assess, enroll and orient diverse student populations.
- The Director of Admissions is responsible for building strategic partnerships with all units of the University faculty, secondary education, career path industries and workforce partners to establish measurable outcomes for success in alignment the goals and objectives of the strategic plan.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead and manage the recruitment efforts for qualified students within the KSU service region and beyond.
- Analyze current and historical admission results and trends within the service region and develop strategies to surpass enrollment goals.
- Build relationships with prospective students and families. Effectively conduct pre-admission counseling to ensure thorough understanding and acceptance of Kentucky State University and its programs.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school personnel.
- Director of Admissions Represent Kentucky State University at high schools, college fairs, college nights, on- and off-campus events and through virtual programming, Participate in the formulation of events where appropriate.
- Coordinate and facilitate public presentations to promote the University through collaboration with external stakeholders including the KSU National Alumni Association,
- Lead the review and evaluation of application materials thoroughly, recommending admission and eligibility for academic scholarship in keeping with established guidelines.
- Collaborate with the financial aid office to recruit students eligible for institutional scholarships while serving as a liaison to academic departments and institutional advancement related to external scholarship offerings.
- Develop and implement a strategic enrollment plan in collaboration with the marketing director, supported with cutting-edge technology to market and disseminate information about KSU to prospective students.
- Develop and implement recruitment plans focused on pre-college and transfer programs.
- Collaborate with the University's Online Program Manager (OPM) to develop, implement, and maintain the recruitment of prospective students to KSU's online offerings.
- Responsible for all follow up with prospective students and their families from the inquiry stage and oversight of orientation programming.
- Work cooperatively with Athletic Director and compliance officer to ensure and monitor proper compliance related matters through standardized reporting structures across multiple offices.
- Lead and support the implementation of the University's overall recruitment/marketing strategies by participating in direct outreach including phone calls, emails, direct mail and virtual programming.
- Provide supervision through professional leadership and development for admissions office staff, providing ongoing performance evaluation in accordance with University policy.
- Develop, implement, and monitor department and institutional policy, review regulatory guidelines and provide updates in alignment with industry standards and best practices.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Excellent oral and written communication and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated results in strategic enrollment management, predictive modeling, marketing and reporting statistical data.
- Knowledge of comprehensive student databases, CRM systems and information systems along with demonstrated ability to hands-on expertise in the development, management, understanding, and maintenance of complex data models used for the analysis of admissions/recruitment data.
- Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, use sound judgement, and make ethical decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in a student services environment, and a strong commitment to customer service with students, colleagues, and community partners.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others and to lead programs and initiatives that include a wide range of constituent groups.
- Experienced in the preparation and implementation of a divisional budget.

- Technologically savvy and experience utilizing electronic admissions applications.
- Ability to build and manage productive relationships with external vendors and partners.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- This position does have supervisory responsibility.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in higher education or related field.
- Three or more years of experience in enrollment management or related field.
- Established contacts and admission expertise,
- Experience in applying federal guidelines governing admission practices.
- The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
- Supervisory experience
- Experience with Banner, Parchment, and CRM Systems
Licensing and Certifications: NAWORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
