About the Role
MJ Peterson is looking for a Director of Affordable Housing Projects to oversee 8 projects in Western New York, managing approximately 1,500 units with a focus on operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and fiscal responsibility. The position is onsite in Buffalo, NY location.
Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Manage 8 Affordable Housing projects, minimize vacancies, ensure efficient accounts receivable processes, and adhere to budgets.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as HUD and HCR, submit Housing Assistance Payment vouchers, and manage rent increases.
- Organizational Development and Best Practices: Implement best practices to streamline operations, provide training and support to enhance team effectiveness.
- Direct Management of Property Managers: Supervise Property Managers and the Affordable Compliance Specialist to maintain cohesive operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field required
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in Affordable Housing, experience with Section 8 and LIHTC properties.
- COS or LIHTC certification required
