Title: Director of Analytics and Actuarial Services

Location: REMOTE

Compensation: $200,000 - $230,000k (dependent upon experience) + bonus

Summary:

Our client, a Top 30 Insurance Broker, is looking for their next Director of Analytics and Actuarial Services (DAAS) within National Employee Benefit Practice. This position will be focusing on developing and maintaining best-in-class financial deliverables for large clients with complex, primarily self-funded benefit programs. Responsibilities include creating comprehensive client deliverables such as underwriting analyses, market reviews, claims utilization modeling, renewal projections, and financial funding analyses. The role also involves developing analytical tools, enhancing dashboards, and providing training and support across the organization. Additionally, the director leads complex client projects involving the design, funding, pricing, and implementation of health and group benefit programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and facilitate trainings and provide ongoing support around tools and templates.
  • Finalizes client letters, reports and presentations; capable of signing all actuarial correspondence/attestations in accordance with professional standard.
  • Displays a thorough understanding of health care reserves from all plan designs and considers interaction between active and retiree plan reserves as it applies to ABHP s with retiree rollover features
  • Underwrite fully insured medical/dental/vision renewals.
  • Ability to model enrollment migration, seasonality impacts, employee contribution scenarios and other adjustments to health plan cost build-up.
  • Develops client-ready financial analysis, reports and presentations.
  • Responsible for the financial analytics delivery for our more complex self-funded accounts
  • Recognize the need for and guides development of new analytical tools or innovative solutions as the marketplace changes.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Prior experience working at an insurance brokerage
  • FSA/ASA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or Associate of the Society of Actuaries) preferred
  • Prior experience presenting directly to clients

Education:

  • FSA/ASA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or Associate of the Society of Actuaries) preferred
