Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data analytics strategy aligned with the organization's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the Data Analytics Department; managing and mentoring a team of data analysts to ensure successful project execution, and developing and managing the department's budget to ensure resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of a central data repository (data warehouse or data lake) to consolidate data from disparate sources across the organization.
  • Collaborate with business leaders across departments to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress towards organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and accessibility.
  • Champion data innovation: Proactively stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data analytics. Leverage this knowledge to recommend and implement cutting-edge solutions that optimize data management capabilities. Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of data management tools, analytics platforms, and visualization software to ensure efficient data handling and generation of insightful analysis.
  • Develop compelling data visualizations and narratives to effectively communicate key data initiatives, insights, and their impact on the organization's goals to senior leadership. Foster a data-driven culture by translating complex analytics into actionable insights for executive decision-making.
  • Establish and manage relationships with external data partners, vendors, and academic institutions to enhance the organization's data capabilities.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Master's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, analytics, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing data strategies in complex organizations.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality management, and data security best practices.
  • Experience with a wide range of data management tools, analytics platforms, and visualization software.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for the non-profit sector and a commitment to using data to drive mission fulfillment.
  • Experience in grant writing and supporting fundraising efforts with data-driven insights desire.
