Job DescriptionThe Director of Annual Giving will administer a comprehensive annual giving program; successfully increase retention of existing donors; work to acquire new donors; and actively move current donors to ever increasing levels of support from all constituencies including: alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends. The Director of Annual Giving will work closely with the Institutional Advancement Staff to engage supporters and volunteers necessary for the College to fulfill its mission.ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for the overall direction and strategy of the Annual Giving campaign at the College, including management of the budget.
  • Design and implement annual giving fundraising strategies through multichannel methods including direct mail, emails, and social media.
  • Serve as project manager of Giving Tuesday and Roar and Raise efforts, the two largest crowdfunding campaigns for the College.
  • Lead the growth of the Faculty/Staff giving campaign and manage the Faculty/Staff champions.
  • Ensures accurate copy on the Annual Giving pages of the college website and provides annual giving content as needed.
  • Facilitates, in coordination with the Donor Stewardship Coordinator, the annual giving stewardship initiatives.
  • Collaborates with other campus departments on programming involving alumni, parents, and friends to increase annual giving opportunities, such as Alumni Weekend and Commencement.
  • Oversees the College's phone outreach program, which includes texting, phonathon, and video messages, as well as all metric reporting, program fulfillment processes (pledge cards, outstanding pledges, thank you cards), and ensures goals are met.
  • Facilitates programs to encourage alumni giving including the GEM (Gives Every Month) and Little Lions appeals.
  • Serves as one of the staff advisors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals Club.
  • Collaborates with other campus departments and student groups to promote giving through crowdfunding projects
  • Cultivates the growth of the senior class giving campaign and develops a new class giving program among all class years
  • Other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Supports the Senior Director of Development, and the Vice President for Institutional Advancement in fostering a productive, positive, and collegial office setting.
  • Participates in a mid-year performance discussion and a performance evaluation each year.
  • Performs such other College-related duties as may be required by the Senior Director of Development and/or the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree required, and 1 to 3 years of successful fundraising experience preferred.
  • Experience working with volunteer staff and student employees.
  • Qualify for a valid Florida driver license and possess the willingness to travel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong knowledge and experience working in Annual Giving within an educational organization.
  • Knowledge and experience using digital marketing products such as Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Mailchimp, Pledgemine, GiveCampus, and texting platforms.
  • Experience using Raisers Edge fundraising software.

  • Ability to work without close supervision and to make proper independent decisions concurrent with College policy.
  • Diplomacy, tact, discretion, and skill in dealing with diverse constituencies and co-workers.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in the handling of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Knowledge of computer programs; willingness to learn and be efficient user of fundraising software.
  • Courteous manner in dealing with the public.
  • Ability to take direction and work with others as part of a team.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time and occasionally walking and standing.
  • Climbing, walking, crouching, repetitive motions, and ability to communicate appropriately with students/colleagues.
  • Ability to work evenings.
