This is an exciting opportunity to lead our annual giving program, engage with a passionate donor community, and contribute to the growth of a mission-driven organization.Position Overview:Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director of Annual Giving will oversee the strategic planning, execution, and analysis of the annual fund program, which includes direct mail, email, digital campaigns, donor cultivation, and stewardship activities. This leader will work collaboratively with senior leadership, volunteers, and staff to achieve revenue goals, deepen donor engagement, and expand the foundation's donor base.Key Responsibilities:1. Annual Fund Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the annual fund to achieve revenue goals.
- Lead all aspects of annual giving, including segmentation, personalization, and stewardship across direct mail, digital, and individual donor solicitation campaigns.
- Manage a detailed annual calendar of campaigns and activities aligned with organizational goals.
2. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:
- Cultivate and steward relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring consistent and impactful communication.
- Design personalized donor engagement plans for key constituencies, including loyal, new, and lapsed donors.
- Coordinate thank-you letters, donor recognition programs, and meaningful stewardship efforts.
3. Collaboration and Partnership:
- Partner with the marketing team to create compelling content for solicitation materials, social media, newsletters, and impact reports.
- Work closely with board members and volunteers to promote peer-to-peer fundraising and ambassador initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Senior VP of Development and Communications to identify annual fund donors for the major gifts pipeline and contribute to agency events.
4. Data Management and Reporting:
- Oversee Raiser's Edge donor database management for annual giving, ensuring accurate gift processing and acknowledgments.
- Analyze donor data and fundraising trends to refine strategies and report campaign progress to leadership.
5. Event Management:
- Plan and execute donor cultivation and recognition events such as receptions and appreciation luncheons to foster meaningful connections.
6. Budget and Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage the annual fund program budget with a focus on maximizing return on investment.
- Track revenue and expenses to meet financial goals and ensure program sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising or nonprofit development, with a focus on annual giving programs.
- Proven success in direct mail, email, and digital fundraising campaigns.
- Exceptional skills in donor cultivation, stewardship, and relationship management.
- Proficiency in analyzing donor data and utilizing donor management systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with teams, board members, and volunteers.
- Active NYS Driver's License.
