About the Job: GPI is seeking a full-time Director of Structural Engineering for our New England branch. Wilmington, MA; Boston, MA; Portsmouth, NH; Salem, NH; and Bedford, NH are all possible office locations.GPI offers flexible work schedules with the ability to split time between working in the office and from home. This position oversees all structural design projects and staff in New England.We are currently designing multiple-span bridges, large-span bridges, and signature structures. We have new design, rehabilitation, preservation, and repair projects, including structural design and detailing of bridges, walls, and dams. With a strong backlog and a long history of positive client relationships, the opportunity for growth is significant. Responsibilities: Lead our New England structural engineering department with projects primarily in Massachusetts and supplemented with work in New Hampshire, Maine, and other New England statesNurture strong client relationships through open and regular communicationProvide long-term vision, goals, and strategy for the departmentProvide financial oversight of the department's business operationsProvide mentoring, oversight, and guidance for GPI's New England structural team leadersEnsure the execution of quality control and quality assurance plans for the departmentWork with our marketing department to oversee business development and proposals for new structural engineering workQualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's Degree a plus)12+ years of relevant experience in structural design and project managementLicensed professional engineer in Massachusetts or the ability to obtain the license within six months of hireAbility to obtain a professional engineer license in all New England states within six months of hireStrong background in bridge design in Massachusetts, specifically with MassDOTStrong technical background with expertise in superstructure and substructure design, cost estimation, and specification preparationPrior successful experience in project management, effective communication, and mentoringWorking knowledge of applicable bridge design codesA history of positive client relationships in MassachusettsProven skills in communication, organization, and planning for long-term success#Pando Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final considerationRead, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English languageBasic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team membersSummary GPI offers excellent benefits, including a 401(k) plan, ESOP, medical/dental/vision plans, paid time off, and more.
