Job Description:

Duties

* Determines work priorities, plans organizational structure and functions within positions of Buildings and Grounds.

* Initiates all personnel actions for department personnel including evaluation, transfer, promotion, demotion, discipline and dismissal decisions of department staff.

* Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g., other administrators, staff, public agencies, community groups, etc.) for the purpose of coordinating activities and programs, resolving issues, and exchanging information concerning assigned functions and related matters.

* Establishes priorities on repairs and general building maintenance, both inside and outside the buildings.

* Develops and monitors budget and expenditure allocations for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget limits and expenditures are authorized in accordance with established limitations.

* Examines school buildings and grounds on a regular basis for needed repairs and general maintenance needs.

* Proactively orders materials and supplies as needed for the repairs and general maintenance needs of the schools.

* Manages assigned program and/or department responsibilities (e.g. site improvement, grounds, ADA access, fire inspections, safety, etc.) for the purpose of achieving outcomes in relation to organization objectives and ensuring conformance with legal, financial, and district requirements.

* Will be on-call for emergencies that may arise.

* Assume other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, General Construction, Architecture, or a related discipline or a combination of education and experience. Any combination of education, training, and/or experience which demonstrates ability to perform the required duties

* 5 years supervisory experience preferred

* Working knowledge of building mechanical systems and other relevant systems.

* Valid Driver's License and Evidence of Insurability

* Experience designing and implementing preventative maintenance programs

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

* Experience in overseeing an asbestos management plan

* Working knowledge of local, state and federal laws related to the operations and maintenance of school facilities

* Experience working effectively with architects, construction managers, engineers and contractors in all

* phases of construction or remodeling projects

* Experience with cost estimation of remodeling and facilities improvement projects

* Experience designing and implementing preventative maintenance programs

* Knowledge of building management systems including HVAC and fire alarm controls

* Good knowledge of tools, materials, and methods to safely perform the work required.

* Ability to follow written or oral instructions

* Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with district stakeholders

* Ability to work outdoors in a variety of conditions and temperatures

Salary/Benefits

* Annual Salary: TBD based upon experience

* Shift hours: Monday - Friday TBD

* Recommended hire will be subject to pre-employment screenings.
