JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director of Business and Program Development is responsible for providing leadership and direction to all new business and program development opportunities. Ensures that all new business and program development is in alignment with Agency initiatives and the vision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Initiates, develops and fosters ongoing relationships with current and potential Victor consumers, contracting agencies and other stakeholders to ensure services are responsive to customer needs, including current and new business opportunities.
  • Facilitates and coordinates the start up process of all new programs. Collaborates with the Regional Directors, identified key team members and local leadership to ensure successful implementation.
  • Collaborates with Administrative Departments (Human Resources, Fiscal, Information Technology, etc.) to assist in the program infrastructure development for the new and/or expanding business or programs.
  • Works closely with Business Development Manager to ensure successful tracking and reporting of new business metrics.
  • Proactively searches new business opportunities utilizing aggregated Request for Proposal and Grant search tools.
  • Participates in all new business development meetings.
  • Participates as a member of the Executive Leadership Team to maintain alignment with Agency initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Completion of a clinical program with a Masters' or Ph.D. degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related a field of behavioral science from an accredited educational institution.
  • Five years' post-graduate degree management/supervisory experience in a clinical, mental health or social service industry.
  • Previous experience in writing Request for Proposal and/or Grant Applications.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and build collaborative relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must have good oral and writing skills in the English language, including the ability to write concise, informative professional reports and assigned documentation in a timely manner.
  • POSITION/SITE REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license, personal automobile insurance and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency's Policy: Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
  • Must be physically and mentally fit in accordance with the Agency's Policy: Physical Fitness Standards and Examinations. Must be willing to complete a Tuberculosis (TB) test and drug screening test.
  • Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California.
  • Must be willing to work within a culturally integrated workplace and be willing to respect human differences based upon protected classes as defined by state, federal and local laws, or any other condition that distinguishes people from one another.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Have an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in a residential, office or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), alternating between standing and sitting for extended periods of time, bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching balancing and occasional carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Physically able to walk up and down stairs routinely.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in a vehicle or airplane for traveling to agency sites, conferences, Stakeholder or County meetings.
  • Requires the ability to utilize computer and telephone systems, which includes the coordination of eye and hand and fine manipulation by the hands and fingers for typing, writing and working with files.
