Job Description:

Overall responsibility: The Director of Business Development will primarily be responsible for effectively creating new business opportunities and expanding on existing opportunites with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and others within the medical community. This position will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with new/existing clients and establishing strategic partnerships.

Key tasks:

  • Identify business opportunities and establish new relationships through interaction with key players at targeted pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and other key stakeholders within the medical community.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective, new, and existing clients by providing support, information, and guidance and ensure overall satisfaction and consistent quality of excellence and service.
  • Work closely with the Contracts Attorney and VP/GM Center of Learning to facilitate contract negotiations.
  • Identify, develop, and foster relationships with key decision makers of clients to secure new business opportunities and expand on existing business.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records in tracking system.
  • Create and conduct presentations ensuring that clients have a clear understanding of Summit Center of Learning Services.
  • Develop educational strategy, presentations and customized proposals for customers based on their objectives, desired tactics and budget parameters.
  • Obtain a full understanding of the clients' needs and challenges, clearly articulating these to internal stakeholders.
  • Attending conferences and seminars to promote the company with targeted clients.
  • Work collaboratively within Center of Learning and cross-functional colleagues.

Requirements:

  • At least (5+) or more years of business development experience selling promotional medical education, medical communications services & scientific programs(i.e. advisory boards, slide deck development, pre & post launch advisement, speaker's bureau's, MSL & field sales training, managed markets training, regulatory affairs training, digital solutions, interactive content development, app development, live and on-demand programs, product theaters, symposium, CME, digital game development, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, congress activities, and speaker training).
  • Science sales background with understanding of clinical research
  • Bachelor's degree Business Administration or Marketing or equivalent.
  • Strong Presentation skills.
  • Proven track record in sales and closing deals establishing and managing KPI's.
  • Work across multiple therapeutic areas, and geographic areas (US and Global)
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Browsers, and cloud-based enterprise solutions.

Specialized Training:

GCP Certification Training w/HIPAA

Valid driver's license and personal auto insurance.
