Description

The Director of Business Development is responsible for the organization and direction of the agency's business development functions. Will work with the management team towards fostering better business success for the organization, including expanding the company's business across work environments and sectors, developing and implementing a regular structured program of contact and outreach to identify new referral sources and to maintain ongoing relationships with referral sources that will increase admissions and average daily census.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and positions patient care service through regular visits in a manner that illustrates and reflects the company's quality of care
  • Works to build the brand as the preferred provider in our service area to achieve and exceed agency goals for growth and census management; assures that the service area is adequately represented by the Business Development team
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and training to the business development team
  • Works with Executive Director to identify performance improvement opportunities for the business development team
  • Working alongside team members, makes regular, planned calls to secure new referrals, build census, and meet established goals on new and existing, referring facilities; case managers discharge planners and social workers in hospitals and skilled nursing facilities, and other health care providers
  • Works in line with the operational procedures of the agency towards its revenue generation and sales growth goals
  • Liaises with members of staff to ensure top level client experience in all cases of client interactions from follow up to delivery and needs assessment

Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; additional experience may be substituted for educational requirement
  • Minimum 10 years of sales/marketing experience in healthcare, including at least five (5) years' experience in client relationship management, professional services, business development and team leadership
  • Skilled at establishing/maintaining working relationships with key staff, marketing contracts, and clinical staff to ensure thorough understanding of private duty services
  • Proven ability to generate and maintain relationships with new and existing accounts including physicians, healthcare professionals, and community agencies
  • Strong leadership and relationship management skills
  • Possesses the ability to grow and maintain relationships with any individual, irrespective of the background and type of personality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong creativity and critical thinking abilities
  • Working knowledge of electronic data processing systems and office computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:

  • Must remain current and up to date on local, state, federal rules, and regulations
  • Must be a licensed driver with an acceptable driving record with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order; ability to travel to all business locations for training and/or meetings as required
