Director of Business Operations/ Lynch Group / Bangor, Maine

We are working with our client the Lynch Group, a locally owned family of companies in providing integrated logistics services and named Best Places to Work 2024 is seeking Director of Business Operations for the Records Management Center to join their team in Bangor, Maine.

Records Management Center & Shredding On-Site (RMC/SOS) has provided secure, dependable, and customer-focused records and information management services to Northern New England for nearly 30 years.

Reporting to the President, this senior level Director supports the Records Management Center and Shredding On-Site division by leading a high-performing team to drive business growth by expanding our information management services and maintaining strong customer relationships. The Director will build and promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer focus, while ensuring efficient operations and driving market expansion.

This unique opportunity will lead multiple business units with growth into the executive leadership team.

Requirements of the Director of Business Operations:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior level people leadership position within an Operations, Customer Service, Technology or Logistics environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team with clear goals, accountability and path for professional development.
  • Strong capacity for long-term planning and data-driven decision making. Experience within an EOS model a plus.
  • Skilled in implementing and managing software solutions, including ECM software and IT systems. Sales Mate knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to maintain customer satisfaction and foster internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Expertise in efficient, safe, and scalable operations with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets, track financial performance, and achieve financial targets.
  • Ability to travel to other sites as needed with the state of Maine.

Responsibilities of the Director of Business Operations:

  • Build and lead a team focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, following the EOS Traction framework.
  • Lead and mentor 4 department managers with oversight for approximately 50 employees over four multi location divisions focused on logistics and fleet management, customer success, records warehouse operations and scanning technology.
  • Set direction and goals for daily operations, focusing on process improvement, long-term growth and innovative technology.
  • Integrate digital services, systems, and automations that enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Responsible for analyzing customer satisfaction and production data and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Drive exceptional service by leading teams to prioritize customer satisfaction, resolve issues promptly, capturing new opportunities, and build long-term relationships.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to identify and grow new business, including introducing digital solutions that add value.
  • Identify and execute growth initiatives, including market expansion, strategic acquisitions, and introducing new digital service offerings.
  • Manage financial performance, focusing on profit and loss, cash flow, budgeting, and resource allocation, tracking key metrics ensuring the financial health of the business.
  • Collaborate with finance to track key metrics and use data to guide decision-making.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
  • Oversee safety, scheduling and security for fleet, facilities, and data operations.
