Job Description:
In this position, you will:
  • Lead the Campus Operations division and oversee all Campus Operations responsibilities (facilities, landscaping, housekeeping, safety and security, transportation and facilities rentals) through the development and communication of policies and procedure to both Campus Operations team members and all Cary Academy employees. Determine the best way to execute Campus Operations responsibilities and develop and implement related tools such as work schedules and checklists. Ensure that the contractual obligations of the division's vendors are maintained. Maintain professional relationship with vendors and contractors to ensure their timely service and input.
  • Provide leadership and support to all Campus Operations management personnel through professional development, operational review and coordination, goal setting and responsibility prioritization, assistance and guidance in personnel management of each Campus Operations team, and performance evaluation of team personnel.
  • Manage all Campus Operations personnel by handling human resource matters for Division team members including, but not limited to, hiring, onboarding, retention, training, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Perform or coordinate the financial operations of the Division in concert with other Division management personnel including the development and oversight of the Division's operating budget and performance as well as capital, construction and deferred maintenance and replacement forecasting and execution in collaboration with the Head of School and Chief Financial Officer. Work with the Contracts and Purchasing Director to negotiate and manage contracts with outside companies for ongoing operational services and major projects.
  • Manage all components of campus refurbishment and expansion with oversight of building renovations and new construction projects in conjunction with Head of School.
  • Oversee and the CMMS system to manage and complete both proactive and reactive Campus Operations requests. Develop and distribute operational reports that outlines the schools progress based on key performance indicators established each year.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, policies, ordinances, inspections and permits are maintained.
  • Ensure the safety and security of campus buildings and grounds. Work with outside community members to develop and maintain strong safety and security policies and procedures that meet the needs of the Cary Academy community. Conduct building inspections with all Campus Operations management personnel and make recommendations to the Head of School for major renovations or repairs. Serve on the school's crisis management team and certifies school personnel in non-violent crisis intervention.
  • Work in conjunction with the Head of School and Chief Financial Officer to plan and deliver risk management initiatives for the School. Develop policies and procedures in this area, take the lead in managing and reporting on incidents and issues relating to risk management, participate in developing and leading training for employees in a variety of relevant risk management areas.
  • Manage the school's transportation department to include vehicle acquisition and maintenance, scheduling, off-campus location management, driver certification and training, and rider safety.
  • Work with other members of the Leadership Team to determine and implement short-term and long-range planning strategies that covers operational components within their divisions to include major events and projects. Lead the development and completion of Strategic Planning initiatives that relate to Campus Operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or by Head of School.

Work collaboratively with the Information Services team to research, implement and evaluate technology resources related to position responsibilities.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned in support of both divisional and school operations and initiatives.
