Director of Career Development

Thiel College seeks a strategic leader to reimagine Career Development through innovative partnerships and scalable programs. Partnering with our academic programs, this position advances the College's commitment to launching adaptable leaders who meaningfully contribute to their professions and communities.

Strategic Focus

The Director will build institutional capacity for Career Development by:

* Establishing systems and resources that scale career support

* Creating a Career Corps of student leaders and alumni volunteers

* Developing partnerships with Alumni Relations and Alumni Board to leverage graduate networks

* Supporting faculty and staff to integrate career development into their work

* Designing and implementing systems to track graduate career outcomes

* Using outcomes data to inform program development and demonstrate impact

Leadership Opportunity

This role requires an entrepreneurial approach to:

* Build collaborative networks across campus and with alumni

* Design innovative and sustainable programs

* Create partnerships that expand career opportunities

* Lead initiatives that advance institutional goals related to career outcomes, alumni engagement, and community partnerships

Institutional Context

The Director will advance the Thiel 2026 Strategic Plan by strengthening career development across the College. Through partnerships with Academic Affairs, Alumni Relations, and the Alumni Board this leader will connect current students with graduates and support career preparation across academic programs in business, education, health professions, the sciences, humanities, and social sciences. The Director will create systems to track graduate success and career pathways, using this data to enhance programs and showcase alumni achievement.

Resources and Structure

The Director will develop a team through:

* Student worker program development

* Graduate assistant supervision

* Alumni volunteer coordination

* Potential shared staffing with Alumni Relations

Experience and Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred

* 3-5 years of progressive responsibility in career development, alumni engagement, higher education, or related field

* Experience building sustainable programs and systems

* Experience fostering strategic partnerships or collaborative initiatives

* Evidence of data-informed program development

* Experience developing and managing student leadership and/or volunteer networks

* Demonstrated understanding of the value of a liberal arts education

Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge of Handshake career platform

* Experience with grant writing and resource development
