REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and TechnologySPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads, directs, and supervises the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District (SOCSD) Career and Technology programs.Leads the development of the school improvement plan and professional development plan.Enforces appropriate state and federal accreditation standards, regulations, board policies, and administrative directives.Coordinates vocational activities and programs for the SOCSD.Manages and maintains appropriate student, vocational, and fiscal records as required by state and district policy.Provides leadership for the development and management of a comprehensive program of student services and extra-curricular activities as determined by the needs of the students and the curriculum at the Millsaps Career and Technical Center (MCTC).Works with counselors, team leads, and school administration to coordinate recruitment and registration of students.Regularly attends academy team meetings to provide support and guidance for academy CTE initiatives.Plans future program direction in accordance with employment opportunities.Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all personnel assigned to the MCTC.Guides and supports teachers in classroom organization and management, grouping students, daily lesson plans, effective use of curriculum and teaching materials.Supervises the maintenance of the physical facilities and directs the work of the custodians assigned to the building.Ensures that teachers have an ongoing communication system with parents and sets expectations for scheduling parent-teacher conferences.Collaborates with principals and other directors to ensure continuous and sequential learning for all students.Promotes and effectively communicates the mission and beliefs of the SOCSD and the MCTC.Builds an effective working relationship with the students, school personnel, parents, and the community.Confers with students, teachers, and parents regarding disciplinary and attendance matters.Responsible for the security and coordination of state testing programs.Reports regularly and punctually to assigned work location and notifies supervisor or designee of impending absence in a timely manner.Performs other duties as assigned by the superintendent or his/her designee.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Valid administrator licenseA minimum of three years classroom teaching experienceCurrent State of Mississippi teaching certificationDemonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all staff membersAbility to use technology effectivelyStrong organizational skills in tracking individual student progress and data applicationEffective interpersonal, communication, and project management skills
