The Role

The Director of Category Management manages and leads an organization of Procurement professionals that are responsible for developing and executing strategies for Procurement categories. They will partner with internal stakeholders and other leaders across the organization to understand custom network business strategies, conveying the Procurement process and ensuring Procurement is involved in initiatives up front. The ideal candidate will foster an inclusive culture, exemplifying our operating principles of Teamwork, Trust, and Transparency.

This is a fully remote position open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S. with preferred location being those based in the Denver, CO area.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team focused on project pipeline development, RFx strategy, commercial negotiations, and strategic supplier relationships.
  • Build a high-performance team by hiring and retaining the right talent, setting goals, delegating work, and fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Develop and execute category strategies aimed at reducing total cost of ownership while mitigating risk, and lead teams in preparing scope documents, communication plans, and contract awards.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and Finance to understand strategies, roadmaps, and budgets.
  • Partner with key suppliers to understand capabilities, market trends, and identify new approaches.
  • Deliver against targets related to cost reduction, supplier rationalization, and internal customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with leaders of Sourcing and Contract Management teams to ensure a positive stakeholder experience and continuity across the Procurement/Sourcing process.
  • What We Look For in a Candidate

    Required Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years of Procurement specific experience
  • 2+ years of experience leading a Procurement team
  • Demonstrated Project Management and Relationship Management skillset
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP, Ariba, or similar ERP systems
  • Technology or telecommunications industry experience
  • Compensation

    The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

    Location Based Pay Ranges

    $128,310 - $171,080 in these states: AR ID KY LA ME MS NE SC SD

    $135,060 - $180,080 in these states: AL AZ FL GA IA IN KS MO MT ND NM OH OK PA TN UT VT WI WV WY

    $141,820 - $189,090 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI

    $148,570 - $198,090 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA

    This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive. To learn more about our bonus structure, you can view additional information here.
