This senior-level position demands a strategic thinker who can assess, plan, implement, and evaluate high-impact communication initiatives that align with our club's prestigious status and resonate with our discerning membership.Reporting directly to the Director of Membership, this part-time, on-site role at The Buffalo Club requires a leader who can seamlessly blend strategic insight with practical execution.This role offers a unique opportunity for a strategic communications leader to shape and elevate the member experience at Buffalo's most prestigious private club. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of visionary thinking, analytical prowess, and refined communication skills to this pivotal position.Based on demonstrated success in this role, The Club is open to increasing the number of hours per week over time.Candidate Profile Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in strategic communications roles, with a track record of developing and implementing successful communication strategies in luxury or high-end environments.Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyze complex situations, and develop innovative communication solutions that drive measurable results.Leadership: Proven experience presenting to and influencing executive-level stakeholders, including boards of directors.Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis capabilities, with the ability to translate insights into actionable communication strategies.Writing Excellence: Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with a sophisticated audience.Design Capabilities: Ability to execute graphics and branding materials within the approved brand guide using provided web-based tools such as Canva.Digital Proficiency: Deep understanding of digital communication platforms and their strategic application in member engagement.Project Management: Excellent ability to manage multiple high-level projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively within a part-time schedule.Industry Insight: A passion for elite brand communications and a nuanced understanding of the private club sector. Job Responsibilities Strategy and Planning Strategic Planning:Develop comprehensive, data-driven communication strategies that align with the club's goals and member expectations. Conduct thorough assessments of internal and external communications, present findings and recommendations to the Board of Directors, and implement approved strategies.Competitive Analysis: Research and analyze communication practices of peer institutions and luxury brands to identify best practices and innovative approaches that can elevate our club's communications.Performance Evaluation: Establish key performance indicators for communication initiatives. Regularly analyze outcomes, report on successes and areas for improvement to leadership, and adjust strategies accordingly.Member Communications Strategy: Oversee the development of a sophisticated member communications strategy including emails, newsletters, and in-app communication, that reinforces the club's brand positioning and enhances member engagement across all platforms.Membership Growth Strategy:Create a curated online presence that showcases the benefits of membership to prospective members via our website and social media platforms.Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with club leadership, board members, and external partners to ensure communication strategies support overarching club objectives and maintain brand integrity.Innovation Leadership:Stay abreast of emerging communication trends and technologies, recommending and implementing innovative approaches to enhance member engagement and satisfaction.Brand Consistency:Maintain a consistent brand voice across all communications, upholding the club's brand and communication standards.Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure cohesive and integrated communications strategies. Partner with our marketing agency for strategic marketing initiatives and project management of those initiatives from an internal perspective.Member Engagement Initiatives:Implement strategic marketing materials and create targeted campaigns for a variety of objectives, including but not limited to:increase member participation in club offerings, including dining, events, spa services, retail, and fitness programsincrease legacy memberships, ensuring the club's traditions and values are passed on to future generations.increase visibility among other clubs, enhance reciprocal club traffic, and broaden our reciprocal club network Execution and Creation Digital Presence Management: Maintain and regularly update the club's website, manage club-wide email communications, and increase member engagement with the app and website for reservations and information.Content Creation and Distribution:Creation and distribution of the club newsletter, design promotional materials, and manage social media platforms to expand audience reach and promote the club's brand, events, and promotions.Executive Visibility: Curate LinkedIn content for key employees to build a professional presence, enhancing the club's reputation in the business community.Club Documentation: Develop and manage key club materials including the Reciprocal Club Booklet, event menus, and official club documents such as House Rules, By-Laws, Constitution, and the Art Collection Guide.Visual Asset Management:Collaborate with photographers for annual photo shoots, document major member events, and design invitations and programs for special occasions, maintaining a visual record of the club's prestigious history and current vibrancy.Brand Standards Enforcement:Ensure consistent application of the club's graphic standards across all materials, maintaining the integrity of the club's visual identity.
