Job Title: Director of Construction

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Construction with extensive background in commercial construction to lead and manage multiple ground-up projects. This individual will oversee a team of Project Managers, ensuring the successful execution of retail, restaurant, QSR, and fuel station construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial construction background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work closely with the corporate team on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a pipeline of ground-up commercial construction projects including retail, restaurants/QSR, and fuel stations.
- Supervise and mentor Project Managers, providing guidance on project planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Oversee project safety, compliance with building codes, and adherence to company standards.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to create strategies for operational improvements, cost efficiencies, and project delivery.
- Review and approve project budgets, schedules, and plans, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
- Manage project risks and resolve any issues that may impact project timelines or budgets.
- Participate in the recruitment and development of construction staff as needed.
- Regularly commute to the corporate office for team meetings and project reviews.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of commercial construction experience, specifically with a general contractor (GC).
- 8-10 years of management-level experience, leading teams and overseeing a portfolio of ground-up projects.
- Proven experience in retail, restaurants/QSR, C-store/fuel station or equivalent construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, building codes, and project management principles.
- Ability to commute daily to the corporate office.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software, budgeting tools, and construction technology platforms.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
