Summary
We are recruiting a dynamic Director of Continuous Improvement to lead our clients' LEAN engineering team in implementing and overseeing LEAN methodologies across the enterprise. This role involves developing and executing Kaizen Roadmaps, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and managing cost reduction initiatives to achieve annual savings targets. The Director will collaborate with plant leadership to ensure effective LEAN practice implementation, conduct annual LEAN assessments, and support enterprise safety and strategic initiatives. Additionally, the position encompasses overseeing staff training in LEAN techniques and leadership. Performs various managerial responsibilities including mentoring, coaching, and budgeting.
Location
Onsite in the Milwaukee or Detroit area.

Primary Responsibilities
- Led a LEAN engineering team to implement and supervise LEAN methodologies throughout the company, employing Value Stream Mapping, 6S, and Lean Daily Management consistent with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Develop and oversee the execution of Kaizen Roadmaps for all facilities in coordination with plant leadership and monitor results and sustainability.
- Collaborate with operations leadership to foster a culture of continuous improvement and oversee the training of staff in LEAN techniques and methodologies.
- Lead leadership training and development modules for team development.
- Lead cost reduction programs to achieve annual operational savings targets.
- Oversee facility annual LEAN assessments and implementation of corrective actions.
- Carry out a comprehensive set of managerial duties that may encompass hiring, mentoring, and fostering the growth of employees; orchestrating, allocating, and overseeing tasks; managing performance; and handling the department's budget.
Education, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or business-related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
- Ten years of experience in multisite manufacturing, with 5+ years in LEAN implementation.
- LEAN certification (example - Six Sigma Black Belt) is highly desired.
- Strong background in LEAN Manufacturing and Engineering.
- Advanced skills related to LEAN Daily Management, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, and similar.
- Proven leadership experience including project management and change leadership.
- Proficiency in analyzing data and driving action.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to travel as needed (30 - 40%).
