The Cowboy Innovation Accelerator provides a full suite of pre-accelerator programming and funding that advances innovation-based, proof-of-concept technologies towards venture-backable startup companies or licensable technologies to established companies in the energy, aerospace and advanced mobility, agriculture, and One Health market segments. Cowboy Technologies, LLC is the for-profit venture capital arm of The Innovation Foundation at OSU. Cowboy Technologies, LLC, makes returns-based investments in internal OSU technology development projects, and in growth startups affiliated with OSU, including those licensing OSU intellectual property. Cowboy Technologies, LLC nurtures its portfolio startups for market traction and prepares them to successfully raise capital when needed from our network of aligned angels and venture capital partners.Startups and their innovators and entrepreneurial teams you help foster have the ability to generate economic development and diversification within the communities we live in across the state of Oklahoma. You will be part of an agile team that partners with: OSU innovators including faculty and students, aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs/founders, Cowboy Leaders Network mentors, state-wide startup ecosystem providers, and venture capital and angel investors.Special Instructions to ApplicantsEducation & ExperiencePosition Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business, science/technology/engineering or related field.Ten (10) years of progressive technology-based industry experience in areas that include, but are not limited to: intellectual property assessment and commercialization, technology scouting/acquisition, technology transfer, business development, product planning/road mapping/forecasting, investment analysis including financial modeling, customer requirements/needs identification, competitive analysis/intelligence, customer segmentation and market opportunity analysis, product line strategy/management/leadership, new product launch, product marketing, demand generation marketing mix, customer sales/account management, sales channel management, and/or technical-based pre-/post-sales customer supportThree (3) years of proven supervisory leadership experience
  • Strong technical aptitude combined with sound business judgment
  • Knowledge of business opportunities and trends, particularly in energy, aerospace and advanced mobility, agriculture, and/or One Health markets
  • Understanding of intellectual property-based business models
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate, collaborate, and leverage resources and subject matter experts from cross-functional groups and organizations to produce aligned objectives and produce intended outcomes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of subject matter experts, professionals, managers, and senior leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex problems to solutions
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills
  • Excellent negotiation and project management skills
  • Detail-oriented, with a high degree of accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Entrepreneurial enthusiasm
Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in business (such as an MBA), science/technology/engineering or related field.15 or more years of progressive technology-based industry experience in areas listed aboveFive (5) or more years of proven supervisory leadership experience
  • Startup accelerator participation and/or leadership
  • New venture creation and commercial traction assistance
  • Venture capital investment due diligence and portfolio management
  • Company capital raise preparation/position, mergers, and/or acquisitions
  • Small business and/or startup company commercial grant funding procurement
  • Small business and/or startup company founder/leader/employee
  • Network of industry subject matter experts and leaders, particularly in energy, aerospace and advanced mobility, agriculture, and/or One Health markets
