Oversees the processing and verification of applications for credit and the solicitation for payment on overdue accounts. Investigates credit issues and suggests payment options to be approved. Ensures collectors follow all protocols, laws and regulations to collect payments efficiently.Job details for Director of Credit Management:Salary: 90K - 95KSchedule: 9am - 5pm CST, (M-F)Job Responsibilities for Director of Credit Management:
- Manage relationships with trade credit insurance companies.
- Lead and manage Credit and Collection team as well as develop the collection and escalation procedures and process.
- Set objectives for the collections team that align with the accounting department's goals and ensure team goals are met.
- Design and implement new systems, methods of collaboration, and processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables.
- Develop trainings and SOP regarding the investigation of customers, extension of credit limits lines, and collections.
- Oversee the negotiation and course of action taken for overdue accounts.
- Manage bad debt expense forecasting and assessment process.
- Maintain records, conduct regular analysis of the credit-control system and implement changes as needed to reduce bad debts.
- Report out daily analysis of outstanding receivables, including significantly past due accounts, with finance, accounting, and sales leadership.
- Prepare documentation and/or analysis to support external audit requests.
- Develop & maintain SOP for Credit Department.
- Manage all aspects of collections cycle including legal action and collection agencies.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- 5+ years' experience with Credit & Collections.
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related discipline.
- Commercial account experience required, with balances of $50k-100k+ preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools like PowerPoint and Excel required, DSO Manager, MS Dynamics, and Business Central experience preferred.
- Management of a 25MM+ A/R book, preferably in a service industry
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation within Credit & Collection groups.
