Job Description

SoulCycle is searching for someone passionate about data and the stories it can tell. If you have a mix of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data visualization and engineering processes, our team would love to hear from you. The ideal candidate has knowledge of the end-to-end stack behind reporting, a foundation of analytical and statistics knowledge, the ability to do pretty much anything in SQL, incredible attention to detail, and excitement when it comes to surfacing insights to leadership throughout our organization and driving results. This role reports into our VP of Finance, and will work closely with the Finance team as well as many other teams within the organization including the management team.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide insights and recommendations to the CEO, Management Team and other cross-functional teams to help make data-driven decisions and identify business opportunities
  • Maintain and continue to build the foundation for the data infrastructure that supports all business functions, from marketing and operations to finance and customer experience
  • Become a subject matter expert on all the data we have and how to use it, and contribute to the discussion as we develop new and improved ways to measure our business
  • Visualizations and Dashboarding: design and develop ad-hoc and recurring Looker reports; create and monitor business metrics; identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for performance improvement
  • Audit existing data infrastructure and identify areas of opportunity to consolidate data sources, dashboards and reports; identify and diagnose any data discrepancies or issues; ensure accuracy of reporting
  • Work with technology team to improve and ensure that new and existing systems provide accurate, timely, and comprehensive data in a flexible, easy to access interface
  • Partner with Data Engineering team to create additional efficiencies and unify sources of data
  • Predictive Modeling: build foundation for models that forecast business outcomes, customer behavior, and other relevant metrics
  • Lead and mentor a Data Analyst. Provide feedback, performance measurement, and coaching to grow strong talent to drive sustained impact at SoulCycle.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of professional experience transforming and analyzing data across platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Mode, Jupyter Notebooks, Excel, and GCP/AWS.
    • Looker/LookML experience is preferred.
  • Ability to set a vision for a sustainable long-term data strategy while also contributing to daily tactical needs of the business
  • Expert in SQL (able to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets)
  • Ability to identify patterns and trends in data and solve problems
  • Experience in predictive modeling (e.g., regression analysis, machine learning)
  • Excellent communication skills to work with CEO, Management Team, and other stakeholders to translate business needs and ideas into analyses and recommendations in a timely manner
  • Top-notch organizational skills and project management skills; ability to manage multiple work streams and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative problem solving skills to find solutions to vague questions

COMPENSATION: $165k - 175k annual salary + bonus
