Job Description:
Join a well-recognized financial services corporation that specializes in banking technology as the Director of Data Security. In this critical role, you will lead our client's data security strategy, ensuring the protection of their information assets across multiple platforms. Your role will encompass strategic planning, team leadership, and the implementation of robust security measures to safeguard our client's data from unauthorized access and cyber threats. Location: Irvine, CA preferred, but open to remote with occasional travel for candidates in the Western US. Salary: This is a full-time, direct hire role that is expected to pay a base salary of about $180k-215k plus bonus and great benefits. What You Will Do:
  • Design and drive the overall strategy, methodology, and roadmap for securing data assets across various platforms, including SaaS applications.
  • Manage, support, and oversee the development and implementation of data loss prevention (DLP) mechanisms.
  • Lead teams to provide next-generation data security for network and enterprise SaaS applications.
  • Track and report key performance indicators and metrics, identifying gaps in controls and recommending solutions.
  • Provide engineering and operational leadership to a global team, developing the capabilities of senior staff and managers.
  • Authorize projects, approve designs, allocate resources effectively, and manage department budgets.
  • Foster a culture of leadership and innovation, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of security products and services. What Gets You The Job:
    • Extensive experience implementing security controls in SaaS platforms such as Workday, O365, Box.com, and Salesforce.
    • Hands-on experience with Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), MCAS, AIP, and similar tools.
    • 10+ years of technical experience with at least 8 years in a management role within a similar environment.
    • BA/BS degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience; security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) preferred.
    • Expertise in data protection technologies (e.g., CASB, DLP, encryption) and experience in both strategic and hands-on roles.
    • Proven ability to build and manage strong technical teams, attracting and retaining top engineering talent.
    • Demonstrated ability to establish metrics-based process improvements and develop strong cross-functional partnerships.
