  • Oversee the UN Certification and Testing program for the company
  • Oversee UN/DOT Product design qualifications
  • Assist Sales Department with proper UN markings
  • Develop, implement and maintain training & audit programs for the following:
    • UN Certifications, UN Testing / Re-current Training
    • DOT and Hazardous Materials Security training - All plants
    • How to handle a DOT Audit - Pail plants
  • Maintain appropriate government regulatory contacts
  • Remain current on proposed UN/DOT regulatory changes and their impact to the company
  • Maintain updated information on following programs
    • Child Warning Label Regulations
    • CONEG and REACH Legislation
  • Oversee the entire EPA Regulatory System
    • Develop and Audit all necessary systems to ensure the company follows all federal, state, and local EPA regulations for each plant
    • Develop and conduct training to prepare plants for EPA Audits
    • Remain current on proposed EPA regulatory changes and their impact to the company
Product
  • Assist in the evaluation, development and maintenance of all coating formulations and specifications for all exterior and internal coatings
  • Assist Corporate Purchasing to develop and maintain system for the evaluation of incoming coating quality from coatings suppliers
  • Assist on all coatings related technical issues
  • Assist Operations in improving coatings performance while maintaining or decreasing applied costs by auditing application of all coatings
Quality
  • Assist Sales and Operations on major quality issues through participation in Root Cause Analysis Meetings
  • Visit Customers as required with Sales concerning major quality issues
  • Assist with Root Cause Analysis of complaint data in CSC Hindsight program
  • Assist with Quality and Housekeeping Audits for all plants
  • Assist VP of Operations with any other duties or responsibilities as required
Health & Safety
  • Compliance: Work with VP of Operations and plant General Manager's to ensure that the workplace adheres to safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Training: Teach employees about safety policies and procedures.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine cause and potential mitigation.
  • Conduct inspections of the workplace and equipment when necessary.
  • Create and supply general health and safety assessment reports.
  • Develop health & safety plans or goals.
  • OSHA standards and compliance
  • Oversight of the ISO management system
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years' experience in EHS roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position within an operational context.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, OSHA standards and safety regulations.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing EHS&T programs and policies.
  • Experience promoting safety culture and implementing human and organizational performance principles.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration and influencing abilities.
  • Strong consulting and systems project management skills.
  • Travel of up to 40%
