**The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Director of Development, Individual and Foundation Giving to support the Greater New York Region.**
**WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:**
The Regional Director of Development, Individual and Foundation Partnerships leads the team responsible for increasing the American Red Crosss capacity for engaging with major donors and foundation partners throughout the GNY Region. The DOD serves as a strategist, counselor, and coach to frontline fundraisers and liaises with development operations staff, who support business planning, volunteer engagement, communications, events, and operations. The Regional Director is also a frontline fundraiser and carries a small portfolio of donors. The Director drives annual and monthly revenue planning/forecasting for the individual and foundation revenue channels. The Regional Development Director, Individual Giving and Foundation Partnerships manages a team of four philanthropy officers. This position reports to the Chief Development Officer.
**WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD:**
+ Responsible for an annual team fundraising target of $7.5M+.
+ Staff Management: Direct, lead, manage and coach a team of four regional philanthropy officers to achieve individual and team goals through effective goal setting, mentoring and coaching, ongoing assessment and feedback.
+ Provide targeted and effective training for staff and volunteer leadership on relationship management and how to achieve goals and targets.
+ Model a leadership style that is open, supportive, and encouraging to staff, treating team members as respected colleagues.
+ Set strong vision for team, including clear objectives and goals.
+ Motivate team to meet clear unit goals and take the time to celebrate milestones along the way.
+ Manage a small portfolio of key donors/prospects; Develop detailed cultivation and solicitation strategies for each prospect/donor within the context of a multi-year strategy targeted to achieve annual fundraising goals.
+ Ensure deliverables are met for each prospect and donor in the portfolio.
**_The salary range for this position is: $150,000 - $160,000._**

**WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:**
**Education:** Bachelor's degree required. An advanced degree is highly desirable.
**Experience:** Minimum 7 years of sales/fundraising experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Experience with increasing philanthropic revenue from diverse constituencies, developing and implementing broad-based fundraising programs, and knowledge of best practices in development.
**Drive:** A current valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
**Management Experience:** 5 years of management experience.
**Skills & Abilities:** Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills. Knowledge of office systems: MS Office preferred and fundraising database systems (e.g. Raisers Edge, Salesforce.com). Ability to work on a team within a collaborative environment and ensure the highest customer service orientation.
**Travel:** Requires frequent travel within the Region. The amount will vary depending upon size and geography of region. Occasional travel within the Division may be required.

+ Ability to work in a small cubicle and the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
+ Overall mobility is essential.
+ It may also include driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.
