About Us

The Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) supports the best and brightest scientists conducting groundbreaking cancer research in Israel with the goal to end the suffering caused by cancer. We are the largest non-governmental funder of cancer research in Israel. Our research has been instrumental in the development of breakthrough FDA-approved drugs, such as Gleevec, Doxil and Velcade, as well as in treatments related to nano-medicine, immunotherapy, stem cell research and targeted therapies. Since our inception, we have funded over 2,800 grants totaling just over $92million. Our research continues across all the leading Israeli institutions. ICRF funded researchers have been awarded 2 Nobel Prizes in Chemistry, 5 Israeli Prizes and 2 Lasker Awards.

The Opportunity

The Director of Development is a frontline fundraiser who is passionate about our mission and knows how to get in front of people to drive growth. This person will work closely with the Executive Director and be responsible for increasing the organization's fundraising efforts through the identification and cultivation of individuals and foundations.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Identify, expand and diversify an ongoing pipeline of potential donors

Create compelling cases of support and implement related cultivation and stewardships plans

Actively represent the organization and its mission

Development of short- and long-term fundraising plans to meet revenue goals

Help identify and establish new geographic donor markets and advisory boards

Ensure accurate gift recording, tracking and acknowledgements

Coordinate and support certain fundraising events

Experience and Skills We re Looking For

Bachelor s Degree

Minimum of 5 years of related experience

Proven track record of cultivating and closing ongoing five and six figure annual gifts

Ability to move prospects in a timely fashion toward solicitation and closure

Familiar with Israel and the Jewish Philanthropic Community within major US markets

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills

Proven ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities at one time

Advanced working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office 365 Suite, especially excel

Willingness and ability to travel throughout the U.S. and work evenings and weekends as needed

CRM knowledge and experience

Salary of $90,000 - $105,000 based upon experience
