About the Role

The Company is looking for a dedicated Director of Development for the College of Engineering. This pivotal role within the Office of Development & Alumni Relations requires a passionate individual whose primary focus will be on securing philanthropic resources essential for supporting the educational mission of the college. As the Director, you will independently manage a substantial portfolio of high-value prospects and donors, including individuals and corporate partners, covering all stages of the giving cycle from identification to stewardship.

You will collaborate closely with the Dean of the College of Engineering and university leadership to understand funding priorities, engage in strategic advancement initiatives, and foster strong, lasting donor relationships. This position demands a high degree of strategic thinking, creativity, and the capability to successfully meet significant fundraising goals.

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years' experience in the advancement field, preferably within a higher education context.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • The aptitude to juggle multiple projects, make informed decisions, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills, discretion with confidential information, and a readiness for regional and national travel, including evening and weekend engagements.
  • A solid background in constituent relations and fundraising, with a proven ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, such as successful alumni, affluent families, and corporate leaders.
