Job Description:
Position Overview:The Director of Education is responsible for overseeing and developing educational initiatives for USA Pickleball. This critical position will manage the creation and implementation of training courses for USA Pickleball Ambassadors, Staff, Tournament Directors, Bracket Coordinators, and eventually extend to the broader pickleball community. The Director will also be responsible for overseeing the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring seamless integration, content delivery, and user progress tracking. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in course content development, with a passion for the sport of pickleball and its growing community.Key Responsibilities:Course Development & Training Initiatives:
  • Lead the creation and development of educational content for USA Pickleball Ambassadors, ensuring they are well-equipped to support the organization's goals at the local and regional levels.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and implement courses for various stakeholders, including, Tournament Directors, Bracket Coordinators, staff, and members.
  • Evolve the training program to include a wide range of education offerings, ensuring comprehensive development and skill-building for all stakeholders involved in USA Pickleball operations.
LMS Administration & Content Management:
  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS), overseeing the integration and functionality of the platform to ensure smooth operation and user experience.
  • Develop, upload, and manage course content in the LMS, ensuring it aligns with USA Pickleball's strategic objectives and educational needs.
  • Track user progress, course completion, and performance analytics to inform improvements and report on training effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for users navigating the LMS, ensuring a seamless experience across all education platforms.
Educational Strategy:
  • Create and execute a comprehensive education strategy that supports the growth and engagement of USA Pickleball's key audiences, including ambassadors, officials, tournament directors, and members.
  • Identify future educational needs and opportunities, expanding the scope of education offerings as USA Pickleball grows.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as Member Services, Ambassador Engagement, and Competition, to align educational content with organizational goals and member expectations.
  • Develop certifications and badges for course completion, allowing for tiered progression and recognition within the pickleball community.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
  • Engage with key stakeholders across USA Pickleball, including leadership, ambassadors, tournament directors, and staff, to gather input and ensure educational offerings meet their needs.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with USA Pickleball leadership to ensure alignment between educational programs and broader organizational strategies.
  • Represent USA Pickleball at national conferences and events, showcasing the organization's commitment to education and engaging with industry partners to stay informed of best practices.
Technical Expertise & Innovation:
  • Stay current with trends and advancements in educational technologies and course content development, incorporating best practices into USA Pickleball's education programs.
  • Leverage multimedia content, including videos, webinars, quizzes, and interactive materials, to create engaging and dynamic learning experiences for all users.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, using data and feedback to refine educational offerings and ensure they remain relevant and impactful.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Sports Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in educational content development, instructional design, or training program management.
  • Proven experience managing Learning Management Systems (LMS) and developing course content for diverse audiences.
  • Strong familiarity with course development tools and multimedia content creation.
  • Passion for the sport of pickleball and familiarity with the pickleball community is a plus.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience working in the sports or nonprofit sector is preferred, with an understanding of volunteer-based organizations being a plus.
